My gateway

Name the most expensive personal item you’ve ever purchased (not your home or car).

My gateway to the virtual world

Nowadays, family requirements take precedence over personal demands, so at my age, I hardly remember the most costly personal gift or the last of such treatment. As strange as that seems, it’s true.

I used to pamper myself to the fullest extent possible before I became a responsible family guy; I enjoy fine dining and fashion. I spent a lot of money on shoes, watches, and clothing. Not a big-brand consumer or fashionista I do, however, dress according to my income level. I also look good on them. But as I became a family man, I recognised that in order to partially meet my family’s demands, I would have to defer, if not abandon, the majority of my needs.

I take my sanity seriously, regardless of my financial state.I would prefer not to take the chance of having some of my work and updates slowed down, delayed, or even ruined due to inferior products; in other words, gadgets such as phones and laptops are gateways to the online world. Social media and the internet are the only tools that facilitate my work and provide a shortcut to the virtual world.

Virtual world

Many people will either be dissatisfied or intrigued by my and your most expensive purchase, depending on our differences and degree of financial freedom. But that’s what makes us unique, as I’ve always stated.

The most costly personal items I have purchased for myself are my laptop and phone. Since they are just as precious as or more valuable than the prices, I have no regrets about their cost in relation to their significance in my life.
